Filomena Ristorante's menu is a celebration of classic Italian fare that tantalizes the palate. Each ball is a delightful explosion of flavors with mozzarella and bolognese meat, served with a generous helping of Sunday sauce. Alternatively, the Funghi Di Spinaci brings a touch of indulgence with white mushroom caps stuffed with spinach and Italian cheeses.

Salads and Pasta That Inspire

But the true heart of Filomena lies in its pasta dishes. The Gnocchi Della Mama, made from scratch and tossed in a rich bolognese sauce, transports diners straight to their Nonna's kitchen with every bite. The Rigatoni Con Pollo E Vodka offers a creamy texture that enhances the flavors of grilled chicken, a beautiful ode to Italian cuisine.

Updating to add photos of lasagna and desserts! The lasagna is my favorite dish in the menu, so rich and creamy with the two sauces on top. I've already made a reservation to return for this dish.

Filomena is absolutely epic! I was with a work group of 10 that had a 5:00 reservation. We were promptly seated. Waiter was extremely attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. I had the short rib and pasta (not sure of the actual name-see picture), some red wine, cookies and cream cake, the bread is to die for, and you get a complimentary shot of amaretto or sambuca at the end of your meal. This was my first time here but hopefully not my last. Service was impeccable, meal and dessert were delicious. Portions were strong too. Easily five stars. I'd highly recommend!

Really awesome spot. Great, old school feel. Mature and experienced waitstaff and a classic menu. The portion sizes are massive, so we split a seafood pasta dish that was phenomenal and still had leftovers for lunch. Great history and great experience. Highly recommend.

This restaurant was amazing and so delicious. I truly enjoyed my experience here as the food was great, staff was kind, and the restaurant was STUNNING! I definitely recommend going during Christmas time because the ambiance, decor, and love of the restaurant is unmatched.

The (free) bread with the herby-olives-olive oil spread was so good, I'd come back just for that and an appetizer and/or salad! Soup of the day (lentil) was very good, and arancini also great. It was also cool that they offered a 1oz sample of several wines for $4+. Be aware for vegetarians, there's limited selection on the lunch menu - mozzarella sticks, a mushroom appetizer, burrata caprese, salads, broccoli with gnocchi, eggplant parm, and 2 pizza options, and soup of the day if you're lucky. Dinner menu has a few more options.

We had an excellent dinner at Filomena! We did have some unique experiences- first, we came for restaurant week, and second, they were decorated for Valentine's Day. And boy, do they decorate for Valentine's Day! Please excuse the pink and red food photos! The Restaurant Week menu is a steal. We each paid $65 for our own appetizer, entree, and dessert. It was a massive amount of food easily amounting to two meals per person or more. We also received free bread at the beginning and everyone got a free shot of either amaretto or sambuca at the end. The food was delicious, with strong classic Italian flavors. We agreed the best appetizer was the arancini, which came with two giant arancini balls and an entire gravy bowl or sauce. The best entree I think was the seafood cannelloni- the lobster sauce does not miss! My friends preferred the veal in Marsala sauce, but that's okay, everyone is wrong sometimes. The staff were very friendly and warm. My sister was delighted to get to talk briefly with one of the "pasta mamas" and see her making pasta after our meal. Filomena is a DC classic for a reason!

I finally tried the famous Filomena! They still had their Christmas decorations up, which was A LOT, but it made the place feel so warm and festive. It felt like stepping into someone's cozy home. The prices here are definitely on the higher side, so keep that in mind. I ordered the Linguine Cardinal with lobster, and it was absolutely delicious, rich and full of flavor. Our meals came out very fast, which was great, but about 10 minutes after they arrived, we were asked if we wanted boxes. That made me feel a little rushed. After boxing up our meals, we checked out the dessert menu and decided on the Cookies and Cream Mousse. It was light and fluffy, but nothing too exciting just a simple, solid dessert. A nice touch was the complimentary shots of either Amaretto or Sambucca. I chose the Amaretto, which was very sweet with a bold kick! This isn't the kind of place I'd go for a casual dinner. It's more of a planned experience because of the prices. I'd consider coming back to try other dishes, but it's definitely more of a special occasion spot for me.

Filomena is a DC staple for a reason! We were here a few months ago celebrating our anniversary and then we went back again this last Friday. The food is fantastic! It is definitely pricey, but the quality is simple and delicious. The service is also outstanding. The restaurant is coated in red lights and the decor is no frills. We were definitely surprised when we made our way downstairs to the dining room. We ordered the crab purse to start (MUST ORDER!) and then had the lobster pasta, ravioli, and tiramisu. Our waiter offered us sambuca to finish our meal which is not my favorite, but we decided to try anyway! They were so friendly. We will definitely be back!

Our very cool Uber driver (and a bunch of online websites) recommended this restaurant as a must-do in Georgetown. My family and I stopped in for lunch on an early Sunday afternoon. We got sat down immediately and our server, Mouna, was quick to get us drinks and bread (super yummy and warm). I got the Gnocchi Della Mamma and it was SOOO much food! I definitely recommend sharing portions because wow! It was super good, though, and the sauce was perfect. My dad got the ravioli and meatballs and my sister got the vodka pasta with chicken. They also enjoyed their food. I think it's up there with some of the best Italian food but I also live in California and we have super good spots in OC. However, the service was top-notch and the decorations were lovely, which adds to the ambiance and makes this a spot to check out!
